Happy Dog Project has many dogs in need of temporary housing until they leave on transport to find their forever home at one of our partner rescues. Usually, the time period is 2-4 weeks but it varies dependent on the animal’s needs. You provide the TLC and we provides the food, supplies, vet care, and any needed medications. As a foster, you will be required to take your fosters for veterinary care located in Los Angeles, CA and make sure you maintain a written record of their care and vaccinations. You will also provide them with socialization and keep a watchful eye over them to make sure they stay healthy. A separate area/room inside (bathroom, laundry room, or spare bedroom) should be used if you have other animals in the home during the initial quarantine period. Happy Dog Project requires that all our fosters fill out a foster application and take a volunteer training class. Happy Dog Project will also conduct a home visit to ensure the area in which you will house the animals, is suitable.
